Meaninglessness, lack of purpose, lack of life task

I think our life lacks any higher meaning at all. It is an utterly meaningless life we live here. I think the Universe has probably come into existence out of nothingness for no reason at all. Then matter has accreted into galaxies, stars and planets out of mathematical rules that also came into existence in the big bang. Life and evolution is then a process governed by randomness and natural selection, it has no higher goal.

False. Look at “Sam Harris on Meaning of Life”. (older posts)

Contemporary  societies have lost the basic notions about our existence. They have already abandoned old religious myths but don’t have discovered yet new truths and values, known and used by contemporary science.

Ordinary people don’t have much time for thinking about such matters. They must run – in accordance with their genetically inherited needs and  templates created by local society.

Are we far away from George Orwell novel?
