Journalism has over the last few decades shifted to a sort of gonzo reporting, where they want to amplify the conflict aspect of things.  I think in the US the one person who was at the vanguard of this was Geraldo Rivera, who back in the late 70s started to make reports that were high on hype and conflict and low on facts.  This sort of journalism has become standard fair, and Faux News has turned it into an industry.     B.
