What is Vladimir Putin’s greatest contribution to humanity?

Hard to say on behalf of humanity—but as seen from Russia, the three top contributions of President Putin have been:

1. He ensured an unprecedented wealth for the mass of Russian commoners. Our living standards may not seem too impressive to people from countries we like to compare ourselves with (the Western ones). But against any period in our history, what we have now is an unimaginable, fabulous, improbable wealth. The old habit of explaining why things do not work in Russia the way they should by our “unrelieved poverty” is now gloriously dead, thank God.
2. He proved that corruption and competence are not mutually exclusive. Several decades down the road, people are going to tell each other: “Under Putin they were stealing like magpies—but in between their yachting trips and Belgravia partying they managed to get things done, big time!”
3. He showed how Russia can be run effectively without setting up execution lists, closing the borders and making people work for food. An entire generation has been born and has grown up to become voters and tax payers under the formal trappings of electoral democracy. It would be strange to them if someone one day tells them that elections and freedom of choice are unnecessary because the guys in the Kremlin know what is best for Russia anyway.

1. Labklājība beidzot. Viņiem. Putins ir pirmais izglītotais un kompetentais cilvēks pēc 1917. Speciāi izglītots, brīžiem redzam, ka labāk nekā dažs labs Rietumu diplomāts vai politiķis. TV redzam, ka viņu sasniegtais darba ražīgums balstās uz Rietumu tehnoloģijām – visdažādāko aparātu un darbagaldu firmu uzraksti netiek slēpti. Bez tam vēl Putins ir novācis daudzus sabiedrības attīstību bremzējošus faktorus: socialistiskā piespiedu darba vietā iedevis ieinteresētību un brīvu sacensību, socialistiskā īpašuma vietā – privātīpašumu, un dzeloņdrātīm apjostu un apsargātu robežu vietā – brīva izbraukšana. Ja tev ir dolāri. 

2. To, ka korupcija un kompetence ir savienojamas, mēs redzam ne tikai Krievijā.

3. “Ir dzimusi un izaugusi vesela paaudze, kļuvusi par labiem strādniekiem un nodokļu maksātājiem, – un tas viss kopā ar vēlēšanu demokrātijas formālajiem slazdiem. ” Ko Kremļa zēni zina labāk? To pašu, ko visi mazliet vairāk zinošie un varošie visā pasaulē: 

Lai sadalītu sabiedrībā saražotos materiālos labumus par labu sev, mums sen vairs nav vajadzīgas vergu ķēdes vai skarbi darba apstākļi un izdzīvošanas apdraudējums. Mēs viņiem iedosim ‘gadžetus’: spēlītes, krellītes, ķēdītes, tetovējumus, kliegšanu, šaušanu uz skatuves, futbolu, hokeju, šņabi un seksu,  un  viņi dzīvos savu sapņu virtuālajās pasaulēs, un ne tikai paziņos, ka ir laimīgi un ies balsot par mums, bet vēl vairāk- viņi pieprasīs nodrošināt viņu tiesības uz šo laimi.
